Softball Pitching Tips: How To Grip and Wrist Snap

Coach Jesse Hutchins shows how to utilize the grip and wrist snap.

Jesse Hutchins: Hi, I’m Jesse Hutchins, former USM first baseman and CoachUp coach. And THIS is the grip and wrist snap. The more wrist snap you have, the more spin and velocity you’ll put on the ball. Spin and velocity are very important when learning movement pitches. Put your fingers on the top of the C and your thumb around the bottom. Hold that grip and then cock your wrist back as far as possible. When you release, roll the ball off your middle finger. You’re gonna release at the point when your hand is parallel to your back hip.
