How To Play Catcher
Transcription: “Hi, my name is Clint Chalk, I’m a former college baseball player and CoachUp coach — and this is catching. It’s important to be fundamentally sound behind the plate, to help give your pitcher rhythm, possibly keep the umpiring aside, and have a more positive outcome of the game. With no one on base, it’s important to get yourself in a nice comfortable position behind the plate. We’re gonna have our glove under our left knee, to prevent the third base coach from trying to steal your signs. You’re gonna have the legs kinda narrow, and your hand’s gonna be deep between the legs in order to give the pitcher the signs. Once you give him the sign, you’re then gonna give him a nice target for him to focus in on.”
