Happy Thanksgiving! Sports Parents: What Are You Thankful for?

Happy Thanksgiving to all the sports parents, and sports lovers out there today. I hope you have a great day while enjoying your family.

If you are like me you’ll probably find some time to not only enjoy watching sporting events on TV, but probably participating in some. That may be a turkey trot, a back yard football game, shooting some hoops, or even a full-blown (serious) flag football game with friends.

The thankful sports parent

As a sports parent I have a lot to be thankful for. One of which is sharing my experiences and lessons learned from coaching youth sports, watching my kids play sports, and just being around the games I love.

Here is a list of 15 things I’m thankful for.  Enjoy the list, have a great Thanksgiving, and get active today!

  1. I’m thankful for my kids love sports
  2. I’m thankful for the heart of youth athletes
  3. I’m thankful that sports are fun
  4. I’m thankful for the offseason
  5. I’m thankful that sports are all about the kids
  6. I’m thankful for Super Bowl champs who help the next generation
  7. I’m thankful for father-child moments in sports
  8. I’m thankful for balance between family time and sports
  9. I’m thankful for getting better as a youth coach and sports parent
  10. I’m thankful for learning from sports legends
  11. I’m thankful for the responsbility and privilege of coaching youth sports
  12. I’m thankful that sports are a family affair
  13. I’m thankful that the love of the game comes naturally
  14. I’m thankful for sports during the holidays
  15. I’m thankful that sometimes I can just be a fan
