Coach Reggie Rembert explains the slant route and how to run it correctly in order to create separation from the defendant and secure the catch.
Reggie Rembert: Hi, I’m Reggie Rembert. Former first team All-American from the United States Air Force Academy and CoachUp coach. And this is a slant. Reggie: It’s important to run good routes. It creates separation from the defendant, to make it a lot easier to make a catch. For the slant, make sure your inside foot is forward and on your third step, make a hard plant on your outside foot, drive at a 45 degree angle inside, get your eyes around, catch the ball, secure it, and turn upfield for the score.
