Where to Watch USA in the FIFA World Cup

Group play in the 2022 FIFA World Cup began on Sunday and has taken center stage for the sports entertainment world. The greatest global competition of “the world’s game” only comes around once every four years, and you won’t want to miss out on the world class soccer skills that are on display. The United States Men’s National Team drew the 15th overall seed in the tournament, and was announced as a member of Group B for the opening round. Joining the American’s in Group B are England (5), Wales (18), and Iran (21).

When does the USMNT play in the World Cup?

The World Cup is being broadcast on Fox, and is available to everyone with a basic cable package. The USMNT opened up their schedule against Wales on Monday afternoon, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Team USA is scheduled to play against England this Friday (2:00 PM EST) and against Iran on the following Tuesday (2:00 PM EST). Team USA will need to finish among the top two in Group B in total points in order to advance to the knockout stage of the tournament. The points system in the World Cup is quite simple: three points for a win, one point for each team in a draw, zero points in a loss.

The USMNT is led by Head Coach Gregg Berhalter who has been at the helm since 2018. Coach Berhalter named midfielder Tyler Adams the captain of the team earlier this month, and he is the youngest player to ever fill the role. Adams was a member of Team USA for the 2017 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in South Korea, and now finds himself the captain of the national team on soccer’s biggest stage.
