Boxing Tips: How To Throw A Cross Hook Combo

Brandon Montella explains how to properly execute a cross hook combo.

Hi, I’m Brandon Montella, 2012 New England Heavyweight Golden Glove Champion of a Novice Class and CoachUp coach. And this is the cross hook. You use a cross hook combination because a cross without a hook leaves you square on your opponent and open for attack. By finishing on the hook, you leave yourself in a linear position, making yourself a hard target. Now the thing about the cross hook combination is that one doesn’t go without the other. A straight cross without a left hook leaves you square and ready for attack. So here we’re gonna make sure we finish on that left hook every time. OK Grace, ready?
